Analysing Thriller Posters.

SEVEN - a Thriller based on two Police Detectives, a Rookie (Brad pitt) and a veteran (Morgan freeman), who are put on Homicide Case about a man who kills people in relation to the 7 deadly sins.

Looking at the poster i think you can tell almost immediatly that its a a thriller, yet i can see how people might missjudge it as a horror. With the creepy font, the scared, mysterious faded close ups, crossed out words, the colouring, the peeling paint background and the tag line. Seven deadly sins. seven ways to die.

MEMENTO - A film renowned for its non linear story telling. It's a revenge story about a man looking for his wifes killer, except he has a form of amnesia, and the film is backwards.

This poster is quite obviously for a thriller, the shady looks on the characters, the font, the poloroid pictures (which is explained in the film) If you havent seen the film, i think this poster would peek your curiosity.

SHUTTER ISLAND - Another detective story, set in 54'. A man sent to a high security hospital for the criminally insane, to look for a missing person.
When i first saw the trailer to this i thought it was a horror and it put me off seeing it for a while, the poster, in my opinion also looks like a horror, with the red smeered font and the slightly distorted images. When i finally got round to watch it, it had creepy elements, but it was definitely a psychological thriller, and i loved it.
