Unit 24: REVIEW - Skyrim

For those of you who dont know what skyrim is, its the fith installment of the fantasy roll playing game "the eldar scrolls". You play as a character you create known as the "Dragon born" and start the game when your about to be excecuted, you escape and begin your adventure, and you can litterally do anything you want. I started one game where i was a warrior type character, exploring caves and dungeons slaying dragons and undead, and another character who was a mage, wondering across the massive world bethesda has created trying to get to the wizard school college place. And when i say anything, its almost true, you can cook, mine, create weapons, gather herbs, create spells, enchant weopons and armour, and the map is magnificant. A huge detailed beautiful world with all manner of different creatures living in it.

The last game, Oblivian, had about 5 voice actors in it and got very annoying hearing the same guys voice for different people, now this unfortunatly still happens in skyrim, but not as often, i'd say they probably have about 20 different actors for this game, so now and again you will come across a guy with the same voice as the bandit you just killed but its not as silly as the last game. Apart from the voices leveling up, the leveling system has also had a bit of a polish, instead of picking a few key skills, it just levels up what ever you use, making it much easier  to play without having to make a disission that could affect how you want to play. Also the character movement animation has had a complete overhall, in skyrim you run how you would imagine you run. Like a normal person.Where as in skyrims predecesors the animation for movement was a bit.. dodgey. i cant really explain how it looks like you'll have to play the game or see some footage, but other eldar scrolls fans will know what i mean.
